UN report reveals RSF air support
A United Nations report has concluded that the Rapid Support Forces receive logistical and military support through a secret airlift using Boeing 727 aircraft, which transport foreign fighters, mercenaries, and weapons to Darfur since the end of 2024. These planes reportedly base themselves at N'Djamena Airport in Chad to avoid electronic surveillance. The committee also revealed the presence of Colombian mercenaries estimated to number between 1,500 and 2,000, fighting alongside the Rapid Support Forces. It is believed that they established a base in Nyala and have contributed to military operations, thereby enhancing the group's capabilities despite the arms embargo imposed since 2004. The findings point to regional and international transfer networks supporting the forces and highlight the cross-border nature of the Sudanese conflict. There is also a possibility that the Security Council will escalate monitoring measures and take action against violations of the arms embargo.
