Saudi sheep project supports Vision 2030
The Faraid Association has handed over a plot of land allocated by the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture to establish a model project for sheep breeding of the Najdi breed. The goal is to reach 20,000 head and an annual production of approximately 221,184 kilograms of meat. The project aims to support the red meat development plan and reduce reliance on imports, in line with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, by allocating 30% of the production to contractual farming to empower small-scale breeders and develop rural areas. The project includes two phases: construction of pens, laboratories, and an automated slaughterhouse, provided with technical support from the National Program for the Development of the Livestock and Fisheries Sector.
