Legislative focus on education governance
This article focuses on the transformation of the legislative framework for the education sector in Saudi Arabia. Its aim is to establish a comprehensive legal structure that supports stability and effectiveness in educational administration. The General Education System was issued in alignment with the Universities System, with an emphasis on strengthening governance and oversight, and distinguishing strategic policies from administrative implementation by creating councils and regulatory partnerships where responsibilities are clearly delineated. This reflects a move toward formalizing the sector through independent systems to enhance the efficiency of educational institutions and ensure the sustainability of reforms, in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
