The article discusses the Ministry of Tourism's project to establish the minimum number of staff required in licensed tourism hospitality facilities within the Kingdom, aimed at improving service quality and operational efficiency. The project stipulates a minimum of three workers per room in five-star hotels and luxury resorts, with a lower ratio for lower-rated establishments, and one worker per ten rooms in inns and heritage hotels. Additionally, there are special requirements for serviced apartments and holiday homes. The instructions will take effect from the date of their publication, with a measurement period and compliance deadline for the facilities starting January 1, 2027. Continuous adherence is required throughout the year, with time allowances for upgrades or licensing after implementation. The Ministry also mandates hospitality establishments to regularly update their employee data and document their compliance through the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development's systems and «Ajeer», with periodic reviews and amendments to the instructions as needed.
