SpaceX rocket stage impacts Moon surface
The upper layer of a SpaceX rocket collided with the lunar surface, according to scientists using a telescope in Chile. They observed a cloud of debris and detected spectral lines of two elements (sodium and lithium). The incident is expected to have created a new crater on the moon's surface and is part of NASA's efforts, along with telescopes, to monitor the site. Documentation images from space probes are anticipated in the coming days. This event follows the rocket launch in January 2025, after which the upper stage remained in space following the return of the rear section to Earth.
