King Abdulaziz Quran Competition begins in Mecca
The 46th edition of the King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorizing, Reciting, and Interpreting the Holy Quran concludes in Makkah, with the participation of 334 male and female contestants from 133 countries. This is the largest participation since its inception over four decades ago. The competition aims to encourage Muslims to memorize, understand, and reflect upon the Quran, promote fair competition, and connect young generations with the great Book. The event includes five categories, covering the full memorization of the Quran according to the seven correct readings, with prizes totaling up to 10.26 million Riyals—the highest since the competition's founding. Additionally, cultural activities and historical visits are organized to enhance participant engagement and highlight the Kingdom's leadership in serving the Holy Quran.
