Coalition Navy Leader on Maritime Security
The commander of the Multinational Maritime Defense Alliance announced that Saudi Arabia is leading an international initiative to establish a maritime alliance aimed at enhancing maritime security and protecting global interests, especially in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, the Red Sea, and the Gulf of Aden. Forty-three countries participated in the meeting, and he emphasized that the primary goal is to ensure freedom of navigation and supply chains. He also confirmed that the alliance is purely defensive in nature and does not aim to target any country or organization. It operates in accordance with international law and the UN Charter. The door to joining remains open for interested countries, with the Kingdom hosting the headquarters, reflecting its leadership role in supporting regional and international security.
