Passport activation tips post-renewal
The General Directorate of Passports clarified the steps to activate a Saudi passport after renewal. It is necessary to examine the old passport and activate the new one, which can be done by visiting passport departments or international ports without the need to schedule an appointment in advance. The old passport must be brought along to complete the process. Passport activation status can be verified electronically through the "Absher" platform. However, first-time-issued passports do not require activation; the procedure applies only to renewed passports.
