The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) succeeded in thwarting an attempt to smuggle 4.559 kilograms of methamphetamine ("Shabu") inside a truck at the Empty Quarter border crossing. The drugs were found concealed within the truck’s engine during security inspection procedures. Coordination was made with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to apprehend the recipient within the Kingdom, who was later arrested. The Authority affirms its ongoing commitment to strengthening customs oversight on imports and exports to combat smuggling and protect society. It urges everyone to report smuggling attempts through its security channels, offering a monetary reward to informants with accurate information.
