The Municipality of Medina has begun the pilot operation of the second phase of the "Mawaqif Al-Madina" project, which aims to organize parking and improve traffic management within the city. The project encompasses several main areas, including Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Road, Prince Abdulmohsin bin Abdulaziz Road, Sulatanah Street, Omar ibn Al-Khattab Road (the Uthman bin Affan Road), and King Fahd Road. This phase will continue until September 26, 2026, and parking will be free for registered users via the "Mawaqif Al-Madina" app. The project's goal is to reduce the time spent searching for a parking space, facilitate access, decrease random parking, and implement management systems using cameras. After the trial period, the fee will be 3.45 Riyals per hour, with a 20-minute grace period for payment, which can be made through the app or a payment code. The project contributes to improving the utilization of parking spaces and enhancing the mobility experience within Medina.
