The Municipality of Medina has begun a pilot operation of the second phase of the "Mawaqif Al-Madina" project on five main roads, aiming to organize parking and improve traffic management within the city. This includes Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Road, Prince Abdulmohsin bin Abdulaziz Road, Sultana Street, Omar Ibn Al-Khattab Road, and King Fahd Road. The pilot will continue until September 26, offering free parking for registered users via the "Mawaqif Al-Madina" app. The project seeks to enhance the efficient use of parking spaces, reduce the time spent searching for a spot, and improve traffic flow, with operational monitoring through cameras. After the trial period, parking fees will be set at 3.45 SAR per hour, with a 20-minute grace period. Payment can be made through the app or payment codes at the parking locations. The initiative aims to reduce random parking and enhance the transportation experience within the city.
