The Saudi Ministry of Sports has announced the commencement of transferring 25% of the ownership shares of Al-Ittihad, Al-Ahli, Al-Hilal, and Al-Nassr clubs, which are owned by non-profit organizations, to the Public Investment Fund. This move is part of a broader plan to develop the sports club system in the Kingdom. The step aims to restructure club ownership to improve administrative and investment efficiency, increase investment value, and enhance the financial and administrative sustainability of the clubs. It also focuses on attracting investments and expanding resources to support the growth of Saudi football both locally and internationally. This process marks the second phase of club ownership transfer as part of a larger project to develop the sports sector in Saudi Arabia.
