Reports indicate that the United States is preventing the export of its top Nvidia chips to China as part of efforts to maintain its dominance in the field of artificial intelligence. However, many Chinese companies have managed to access computational capabilities for these chips through data centers in Southeast Asia. Despite American restrictions on the GB300 chips, some Chinese companies such as Monshout, Deep Sec, and Alibaba have made progress in AI models by utilizing external computing resources. Currently, there is ongoing debate about U.S. legislation aimed at restricting remote access, although the existing rules only limit direct purchases of physical chips. The most advanced chips remain prohibited from export to China, while the export of less capable semiconductors is permitted.
