City parking pilot begins
The Medina Municipality has begun the pilot operation of the second phase of the "Mawaqif Al-Madina" project, which includes several main axes, most notably Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Road, Prince Abdulmohsin bin Abdulaziz Road, Sultanah Road, Omar bin Al-Khattab Road, and King Fahd Road. The temporary operation will continue until September 26, during which parking will be free for registered users via the "Mawaqif Al-Madina" app. The goal of the project is to optimize the use of parking spaces, reduce the time spent searching for a spot, and enhance traffic flow in vital areas through operational monitoring via cameras. After the trial period, the parking fee will be 3.45 SAR per hour, with a 20-minute grace period for payment. Payment can be made through the app or by scanning payment codes available in the parking areas. The project aims to organize parking, reduce random parking, and improve the overall transportation experience within Medina.
