In September 2026, UNESCO organized an international initiative in Riyadh to promote ethics in artificial intelligence. The Global Forum on AI Ethics was held for the first time in the Arab world, with the participation of ministers, experts, and policymakers from various countries. The event aims to develop transcontinental policies to ensure the responsible and equitable use of AI, address challenges related to bias and the digital divide, and safeguard human rights while promoting sustainable development. The sessions are expected to focus on four main areas: ethics, governance, capacity building, and international policies, with an emphasis on outcomes that contribute to a fair distribution of technological benefits and the protection of human achievements worldwide.
