US sanctions focus on Hezbollah Iran links
The United States announced its intention to impose new sanctions on Hezbollah in order to reaffirm its close ties to the Iranian regime. These sanctions will include reclassifying Hezbollah as a global terrorist entity and directly linking it to activities of Iran’s Quds Force, affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. This move is part of broader efforts to cut off the group's funding sources and track financial aid directed toward it. As part of these measures, sanctions have been imposed on ten individuals accused of money laundering. These actions are separate from any potential future sanctions against Iran, and the Treasury Secretary is expected to reveal further details in an upcoming press conference.
