Ship traffic drops in Strait of Hormuz
Ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has sharply declined, with the number of passing ships dropping to just seven, half the number recorded the previous day, due to deadlock in negotiations between Washington and Tehran. No supertankers crossed the strait during this period. Meanwhile, shipping activity increased in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, where 23 ships passed compared to 34 previously, with 16 entering and 7 leaving—among them two oil tankers from Vietnam and India—while there were no liquefied natural gas carriers.
