Airbus relaxes remote work rules after Spanish union protests

Protests and discussions within Airbus led to a relaxation of the remote work restrictions that had been in place. The management decided to allow employees to work from home for two days a week instead of requiring them to be in the office four days a week. This decision was made in response to union demands, which organized strikes in Spain, France, and the UK. Previously, Airbus had been aiming to increase in-office presence to enhance efficiency and skill exchange, especially amid rising challenges in the aviation industry, such as attracting new employees. The move underscores the importance of listening to employees' concerns and comes as part of broader efforts to bring staff back to the offices, aligning with the aviation industry's strategies to adapt to the new-generation workforce's needs and market challenges.
