The trial of the defendants accused of negligence in the death of football legend Diego Maradona has been temporarily suspended after the defense team raised doubts regarding the results of kidney tests presented before the court. They claimed that these results pertain to Maradona’s father, who passed away in 2015, rather than the player himself. The defense argued that some of the results belong to Maradona’s father, who was residing in Dubai and was not in Argentina at the time of those tests. Investigations indicate that Maradona suffered from chronic kidney disease, which should have attracted the attention of the medical team. However, doubts regarding the test results could impact the credibility of the medical committee overseeing the case. It is noted that Maradona died due to heart failure and severe pulmonary edema, two weeks after undergoing brain surgery. The medical team faces accusations of inadequate care, and investigations are ongoing until August 27 to determine whether the test results relate to someone else.
