Construction Costs Index up 2.3% in July
The construction cost index in Saudi Arabia increased by 2.3% in July 2026 compared to the same month of the previous year. This rise is mainly due to higher construction costs in the residential sector by 2.2% and in the non-residential sector by 2.6%. Equipment and machinery rental costs experienced a significant jump, increasing by 4.2% in the residential sector and 5.8% in the non-residential sector. Additionally, costs of labor, energy, and raw materials rose, with prices for timber, carpentry, and other building materials climbing. On a monthly basis, the construction cost index remained stable in July 2026 compared to June, reflecting steady costs across both sectors.
