Turkey discovers donkey and horse meats in food products
The Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry revealed the presence of horse and donkey meat in a popular sausage product after test results showed it contained meat from hooved animals (horses, donkeys, and mules). These findings are part of the Turkish authorities' efforts to fight food fraud, which also include similar meats in other foods such as minced meat and Tantuni dishes in the provinces of Mersin and Manisa, aimed at protecting consumers from counterfeiting practices in everyday consumer products.
