Lebanon Palestine and Hormuz Details of Crown Prince's France Visit
During Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's visit to France, France and Saudi Arabia emphasized strengthening their existing strategic partnership through new initiatives aimed at deepening cooperation across various sectors. Key highlights included enhancing bonds of friendship and mutual trust, and establishing a Strategic Partnership Council to develop executive initiatives. The meeting also addressed regional issues, with both sides stressing the importance of diplomatic solutions to conflicts, condemning attacks on the Strait of Hormuz, and supporting the Palestinian cause by backing efforts to restore Palestinian unity and halt settlement policies. They agreed on supporting efforts to resolve the Lebanese crisis, promoting stability in Syria, and backing Yemen and Sudan, with a focus on national sovereignty and ending external interventions. The discussions also covered enhancing economic cooperation, particularly in energy, innovation, and emerging technologies, including the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding to elevate mutual investments, with trade between the two countries reaching approximately $11.8 billion in 2025. Both parties underscored the importance of collaboration in artificial intelligence, technology, and culture through joint projects such as developing a cultural tourism destination in Al-Ula, and maintaining the historic partnership until 2035, with an emphasis on sustainability, energy, and modern technologies.
