Syria welcomed the United States' decision to remove it from the list of state sponsors of terrorism, considering it an important step that contributes to supporting efforts for economic recovery, reconstruction, and strengthening stability and security within the country and the region. The ministry affirmed that this decision could open a new chapter in international relations with Damascus, promising to continue strengthening strategic partnerships and expanding cooperation with the international community, especially the United States, in ways that serve Syria's interests and promote its stability. This measure comes after the Office of Foreign Assets Control at the U.S. Department of the Treasury issued an update to the sanctions regulations, without any opposition from Congress, paving the way for improved economic and political conditions in Syria.
