The permanent representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, Dr. Abdelaziz al-Wasil, stated during the Security Council session on the humanitarian crisis in Sudan that targeting Sudan's unity and sovereignty has worsened the humanitarian situation and expanded the scope of conflict and deteriorating security. He called for adherence to the commitments of the Jeddah Platform and Security Council resolutions, condemning the attacks targeting civilians and aid facilities by the Rapid Support Forces, especially in North and South Kordofan regions. He also commended the Sudanese government's decision to open the Al-Adri crossing to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid. Additionally, Saudi Arabia’s ongoing support to Sudan, totaling over $3.1 billion, including $100 million through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid Center, was highlighted to ensure that aid is delivered in a safe and effective manner.
