The Al Hilal Club announced its signing of English player Oli Watkins from Aston Villa for approximately 50 million pounds sterling, making him the second attacking deal from the English Premier League this summer after Kresensio Sumrill. Watkins (30 years old) played 278 matches with Aston Villa, scoring 108 goals, and represented England in the 2026 World Cup, where he earned a bronze medal. He will join the team's training sessions in preparation for the upcoming match against Al Ahli. Along with this, reports circulated about the termination of French player Karim Benzema's contract with Al Hilal, after he joined the club last February. Benzema is the fourth foreign player to leave the team this summer, as negotiations with Brazilian Gabriele Martinelli from Arsenal are still ongoing.
