The Saudi Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority clarified the maximum allowable amount of cigarettes that travelers can bring for personal use, which is 200 cigarettes every three months. Travelers are required to declare any quantities exceeding this limit and are subject to applicable fees and taxes on the excess. It was also explained that, after declaration and payment of fees, the maximum number of cigarettes permitted within the same period reaches 2,400 cigarettes. Customs duties are calculated at 100% of the product’s value, followed by a 100% excise tax, and then a 15% Value Added Tax (VAT) on the total amount, ensuring compliance with customs procedures and avoiding violations.
