Gates clarifies family travel rules to Gulf countries
The General Directorate of Passports confirmed that the family register is not considered an approved travel document for Gulf Cooperation Council countries and is only used to verify dependents within the Kingdom. It is recommended to use official travel documents to ensure smooth passage at border crossings. They also called on citizens to protect their passports from damage or loss, and to report any loss electronically within the Kingdom through the Absher platform. For losses outside the country, citizens should contact the Saudi embassy or consulate, then visit the Passport Department upon return to complete the necessary procedures.
