Sudan Rapid Support Forces Intelligence Leader Divided
The defection of the head of the Intelligence Department in the Rapid Support Forces and his support for the Sudanese army reflect a rising wave of defections within the Rapid Support Forces since the outbreak of the war in April 2023 between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces. Approximately 200 fighters led by Abubakar Hamuda Dhaloub joined the armed forces, expressing their readiness to participate in military operations aimed at eliminating the Rapid Support Forces and revealing the plans of these forces. This development comes amid ongoing conflict and its widespread security and humanitarian repercussions in Sudan.
