Iranian experts boost militia skills Yemeni Navy sinks Houthi boats
The Yemeni Navy and Coast Guard thwarted two attempts by the Houthi militias using four suicide boats to approach the islands of Humais and Zukur in the Red Sea, amid accusations that the Houthis are seeking to threaten international maritime security and smuggle weapons. These clashes followed a previous confrontation with Houthi boats that tried to approach the islands. The incidents coincided with reports of 75 Iranian military experts arriving in Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen during June and July to enhance their capabilities, including developing missile and drone systems, improving missile and boat launching capabilities, and managing naval operations in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
