Al-Jalajil highlights 21 Healthy Cities' role in regional leadership
Health Minister Fahad Al-Jalajil confirmed that the Kingdom has achieved a remarkable milestone by having 21 cities certified as healthy by the World Health Organization. This reflects the maturity of institutional work and the integration between government and community sectors. This development comes as part of the Kingdom's initiative to transform the concept of health into a developmental priority that encompasses policies, services, urban planning, and the environment, paving the way for building healthy environments and enhancing citizens' quality of life. The cities are certified based on international standards that include community empowerment, health services, and urban environment, with an emphasis on inclusive community participation, contributing to the support of Saudi Vision 2030 goals.
