The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Nabil Elaraby, emphasized the necessity for the international community to pressure Israel to halt its hostile campaign targeting the Palestinian economy. During his meeting with Yahya Shanar, the Governor of the Palestinian Monetary Authority, he discussed the damages suffered by Palestinian banks due to Israeli government procedures, which were carried out in violation of the 1994 Paris Protocol, aiming to weaken the Palestinian economy and sever its connections with the world. This includes the theft of more than $6 billion from the clearance funds. Elaraby expressed his full support for the Palestinians and called on the international community to take responsibility in confronting these policies, which threaten the two-state solution.
