The Crown Prince Camel Festival has launched its eighth edition in Taif, under the patronage of Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Organized by the Saudi Camel Federation, the event runs from September 3 to 13, featuring the participation of over 21,637 camels. It is the largest camel racing festival in the world, with prize money exceeding 50 million riyals. Participants compete in 248 races across various categories, including breeding and purebred strains, along with the first-ever participation of camel beauty contests in multiple colors. This edition reflects the festival’s continued record-breaking growth, achieving two Guinness World Records, and underscores the leadership’s support for traditional sports as a fundamental pillar aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.
