Saudi Arabia condemned the Iranian attack on the Saudi oil tanker "Sidr," which was targeted while passing through the Strait of Hormuz, resulting in the death of its crew. The Kingdom affirmed that the strait is an international waterway and that its protection is a shared international responsibility. It called for de-escalation and for the re-establishment of freedom of navigation through the strait. Officials clarified that Iranian attacks threaten regional security and pose global economic risks, including increased transportation costs and energy prices. The statement underscored the necessity of respecting international law and maintaining the stability of global energy supplies.
