The Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization announced the mandatory implementation of the Environmental Performance Card requirements for paints and varnishes in the local market, starting October 1, 2026. The goal is to improve product quality and raise consumers' environmental awareness. The card includes information about the product’s environmental performance level and helps consumers choose more environmentally efficient products. The organization has urged manufacturers and suppliers to fulfill the requirements and obtain the card before mid-September 2026, after which regulatory measures will be enforced on non-compliant products.
