15 Billion Investment in Water Industry Components

Saudi Arabia is working to fully localize the water industry by manufacturing 18 key components that make up 90% of the sector's parts. The goal is to meet the domestic demand, which is expected to exceed 15 billion riyals by 2033, and to expand into regional and global markets. Agreements have been signed to establish seven factories with investments totaling up to 2.8 billion riyals, ensuring that at least 70% of production inputs are sourced locally, increasing the number of suppliers from 739 to 3,400 by the end of 2026, and raising the local content percentage from 45% to 68.27%. These projects include utilizing modern technologies and knowledge transfer, with an emphasis on developing national capabilities by creating engineering and technical job opportunities. The locally produced products have already been exported to over 27 countries. It is expected that these initiatives will contribute approximately 4.36 billion riyals to the gross domestic product (GDP) by 2033, create over 12,000 jobs, and increase investments to around 11 billion riyals, thereby strengthening Saudi Arabia's position in the regional and international water technology industry.
