The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host the UNESCO Global Forum on AI Ethics from September 14 to 17, 2026, with the participation of 194 countries. The forum aims to discuss technology governance and ensure its responsible use to protect human rights in the digital world. It will review the progress made by countries in implementing UNESCO's recommendations since 2021, address challenges in translating principles into effective policies, and focus on funding governance and capacity building to enhance accountability in the use of artificial intelligence in government services. The event will feature over 100 speakers and 30 sessions. Its goal is to improve countries' preparedness and develop international frameworks for AI ethics. This marks the first Arab hosting of this international platform, in line with Saudi Arabia’s efforts to advance AI-related developments in pursuit of Saudi Vision 2030.
