For the first time in the Middle East, 10 humanoid robots were showcased in a full-sized boxing ring at the "Cyber Hero" event in Riyadh. This initiative is part of a broader effort to translate artificial intelligence technologies from laboratories into public sporting competitions. The robots are based on the EngineAI T800 model, standing 1.73 meters tall and weighing between 75 and 85 kilograms. They feature 29 movable joints that enable them to walk, run, punch, and kick, with a torque capacity of up to 450 Newton-meters per joint. The event aims to explore the combat capabilities of these robots and develop them further, as part of an expanding series that will include eight major cities worldwide, with humans continuing to serve as supervisors and developers. This marks the beginning of robotic-based sports competitions, which could potentially evolve to match the strength and speed levels of professional boxers, especially in sports like boxing and kickboxing. Ultimately, this could transform into a popular event that engages audiences with advanced AI and robotics technologies.
