Private hospitality licensing rules updated
The Saudi Ministry of Tourism has approved a new regulation for the private hospitality units, aimed at organizing their operation and enhancing the quality of tourism hospitality services. The regulation includes converting permits into licenses, with specific conditions for obtaining them, such as the unit being located within a property designated for residential, agricultural, or mixed use, and a maximum of three licenses per individual per property. The license is valid for one year, must be visibly displayed within the unit, and requires the provision of high-quality services and protection of tourist data. It emphasizes the necessity of booking all services through licensed platforms, providing accurate information about the units, adhering to security procedures, and sets the license issuance fee at 1,100 SAR. These amendments aim to elevate the quality standards of hospitality services, ensure a reliable experience for tourists, and support the growth of the tourism sector in the Kingdom.
