Tourist Rights Confirmed After 24 Hours
The regulation focused on amending the travel and tourism services regulation in Saudi Arabia with the goal of protecting tourists' rights. It included requiring service providers to fulfill tourists' financial rights through a guarantee within 24 hours of notification, setting the maximum financial guarantee at two million riyals, and establishing procedures for refunding payments within 30 days if the service is not provided, along with ensuring the availability of alternative services or prompt refunds. The regulation also mandated informing tourists of costs before the start of the service, assigning at least one tour guide for every 25 tourists, protecting personal data, and defining licensing conditions that require activity documentation and a commercial registration, with validity periods of up to five years. The amendments aim to enhance tourists' rights and improve the quality of tourism services in the kingdom.
