Iran blockade prompts US ship adjustments
The United States changed the routes of around 100 commercial ships over a period of 60 days as part of its efforts to impose a blockade on Iran. This comes within the framework of measures to increase pressure on Iran and prevent the flow of supplies or weapons to it by sea. Precise details about the number of ships or their destinations are not clear, but this shift in shipping routes reflects an escalation in the U.S. policy of pressure against Tehran.
