Jeddah Port receives large vessel Morton Merc
Jeddah Islamic Port welcomed the giant container ship "Morten Mærsk" as part of the AE15 shipping service operated by Maersk Global. The port was included in the service route in 2026 to strengthen direct links between the Kingdom’s ports and Asian and Mediterranean markets. The vessel measures 399 meters in length and has a capacity of over 19,000 containers, showcasing the port's readiness to host massive ships operated by major global companies. The service connects key ports in China, South Korea, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Singapore, in addition to the Suez Canal, Port Said, and Damietta. This addition significantly enhances Jeddah's strategic position and supports Saudi Vision 2030's goals of advancing transportation and logistics services. Considered one of the most important Red Sea ports, the port features advanced infrastructure that boosts trade activity and global supply chains, with an annual capacity of up to 130 million tons.
