The Heritage Authority has concluded the fourth season of archaeological excavations at the Al-Ma'malah site in the Al-Baha region. During this work, an ancient mosque dating back to the first century AH was discovered, featuring unique architectural elements and rooms for artisans. The excavation also uncovered a collection of pottery and stone tools that reflect the life of ancient society. The findings confirmed that the site was a center for extracting minerals such as gold, silver, and copper, with mining activities developing from pre-Islamic times through the Islamic Middle Ages. These discoveries contribute to a better understanding of the region's economic history and strengthen the preservation of the national heritage of the United Arab Emirates.
