Fed Likely to Raise Rates Despite Trump
American media sources expect the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates at its upcoming meeting, despite calls from President Trump to lower them. The likelihood of a hike is expected to exceed 85%, amid ongoing inflation at 3.4% in July, rising oil prices, Treasury bond yields, and the US government’s debt reaching record levels—raising concerns about the country’s overall financial stability. In Japan, forecasts suggest the central bank may raise interest rates by a quarter point from 1%. In Britain, it is expected that the Bank will keep the interest rate at 3.75%, with concerns about the potential impact on inflation and economic growth.
