In the second week of September 2026, 1,303 landmines were removed from Yemeni territories as part of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (MASAM) operation. The mines removed included anti-personnel mines, anti-tank mines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices, distributed across Aden, Al-Dhalea, Hodeidah, Hadhramaut, Hajja, and Taiz governorates. Since the start of the MASAM project, more than 590,491 landmines have been demined, with the aim of protecting Yemeni civilians from the threats of landmines and creating a safe environment. Saudi Arabia's efforts continue to enhance the safety of the population and enable Yemenis to live with dignity through this program.
