The article discusses the escalating moral responsibility in sports stadiums, focusing on an incident where fans jeered and mocked the death of a player and former teammate, Diogo Jota, during a match between Al-Hilal and Al-Taawoun, following the tragic car accident that claimed his life. The piece emphasizes that crossing the line from mere rivalry and fanaticism to mockery of death constitutes a severe moral failing and is a violation of human feelings and the sanctity of the dead. It underscores that fans and officials must adhere to ethical standards that preserve human dignity and that necessary penalties against those who insult or dare to violate the sanctity of the deceased are essential to safeguard human values. The article affirms that football must remain a sport without cruelty, and poor conduct does not reflect the true spirit of sportsmanship or responsible society. It concludes by calling for strict measures, such as banning offenders from entering stadiums, and highlights the importance of ethical education as part of investing in the legacy of human values.
