Municipal stadiums nurture youth talento
The 2025 Ministry of Municipalities and Housing report revealed the existence of 6,673 municipal sports fields across various regions of the Kingdom, with notable variation in numbers between areas. Riyadh region topped the list with 1,739 fields, followed by Hail with 675 fields and Asir with 571. Municipal sports fields play a vital role in encouraging physical activity, discovering talented individuals, and fostering social interaction. However, many of these facilities suffer from neglect and require maintenance and development, which hinders their ability to contribute effectively to the growth of the sports and activity community. The responsibility for equipping and maintaining the fields lies with the municipalities, which are tasked with improving infrastructure and organizing community events to provide sustainable services that support a vibrant and healthy lifestyle for the community.
