Al Riyadh Art Announces Tuwaiq 2027 and Curators
The "Riyadh Art" program has opened submissions for participation in the eighth edition of the Tuwaiq Sculpture Forum for 2027, which is scheduled to take place in Riyadh under the slogan "In the Depths of the Roots." The forum targets artists from the Kingdom and around the world who have a minimum of three years of experience in sculpture. A panel of three prominent curators will select 20 artists. The forum aims to explore the theme of roots and the relationships between heritage, identity, and societal changes. It will feature a variety of materials, including granite, metals, and cement, with the possibility of processing granite sourced from the Kingdom in distinctive colors such as Royal Gold, Green, and Royal Pink. The event provides the public with the opportunity to observe artists at work over three weeks. It also includes community activities like workshops and live demonstrations, culminating in exhibitions and presentations, with the artworks being installed in permanent locations around the city.
