Majed and Ronaldo Titles
Ahmed Al-Shamrani believes that the star power of Majed Abdullah and Cristiano Ronaldo’s popularity cannot make up for Al-Nassr’s absence from the list of Asian champions, stressing that the club has never won the AFC Champions League Elite. He says the Asian Football Confederation recognizes the Elite and AFC Champions League Two competitions, in which Saudi clubs have won eight titles: four for Al-Hilal and four for Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahli combined. In his view, the writer rejects attributing an Asian title to Al-Nassr before it has won one, calling that a distortion of history.
