The Chilean coach José Luis Sierra, the former head coach of Al-Ittihad, criticized the Saudi technical staff's decision to dismiss the coaching staff led by Frenchman Hervé Renard before the start of the World Cup, considering that this led to the team's elimination in the group stage. He pointed out that increasing the number of foreign players in the Saudi League has contributed to raising the technical level, but it has also reduced opportunities for local players to participate and has weakened their capabilities with the national team, especially in the attacking aspect. Sierra emphasized the importance of building a strong foundation of local players and maintaining stability in coaching staff, explaining that sticking to a clear technical project is the most important pathway to future success.
