Wimbledon France's finalist ousted early

Polish tennis player Maya Chwalinska, the runner-up at the French Open, was eliminated in the first round at Wimbledon after losing to Thai player Mananchaya Sawangkaeo with scores of 2-6, 7-5, and 6-2, despite winning the first set. Chwalinska had recently reached the final at Roland Garros, but she was unable to replicate her success on grass courts. Meanwhile, American Jessica Pegula advanced to the second round.
